Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reports today that Sultan Abu Al-Einein, an adviser to Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas, on the official PA television network chose to "salute the soul" of Dalal Mughrabi, the terrorist who in 1978 orchestrated a bus attack that killed 37 Israeli civilians along Israel's Coastal Highway.
"Martyr Dalal Mughrabi—I salute her soul and the souls of all the Martyrs—who established her Palestinian Republic in her own special way between Jaffa and Tel Aviv," said Al-Einein.
This wasn't nearly the first time the Palestinian leadership has glorified Mughrabi, according to Palestinian media reports cited by PMW. Other instances include a $6,000 award from Abbas to a dance group named after Mughrabi, a team at a Palestinian soccer tournament named after her, the establishment of the "Sisters of Dalal Mughrabi" summer camp, and a PA-Fatah event marking the anniversary of Mughrabi's 1978 attack.
PMW has also reported on Jordanian children being taught to idolize Mughrabi.
