(JNS.org) Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman, 31, married French dancer-choreographer Benjamin Millepied, 35, in a ceremony on Saturday in Big Sur, Calif. The couple started dating after meeting on the set of 2010’s “Black Swan,” in which Portman played a leading role and Millepied was a choreographer.
The couple has a son together, Aleph, who was born last June and is named for the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The marriage ceremony was a Jewish one attended by only a small circle of family and friends.
“Nothing is more important than my personal life,” Portman recently told France’s Madame Figaro magazine. “It’s something which comes first, always makes sense, and compared to the happiness of a successful family life, everything else is practically superficial.”
