In October 1943, 7,000 Danish Jews were sent to Sweden by the Danish resistance to escape the Nazis. The Prince visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem with Denmark’s education minister and attended a memorial concert by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

Prince Frederik also met with Israeli President Shimon Peres to discuss bilateral relations between the two nations, Israel National News reported.
