( An 11-year-old Israeli girl was severely injured and her father was lightly injured in a Palestinian firebomb attack on a car near the Judea and Samaria neighborhood of Ma’ale Shomron on Thursday.

The girl, Ayala Shapira, suffered third-degree burns to 30-40 percent of her body despite managing to escape the attacked vehicle.

“I shouted to my daughter to get out and she was able to do so,” said her father, Avner Shapira, Yedioth Ahronoth reported. “We were able by the grace of God to get out of the car, but she was much more seriously wounded than I was. We hope that the hospital staff will be able to return her to her previous state.”

Avner Shapira said his wife escaped a similar firebomb attack unscathed a month ago.
