(JNS.org) Jewish actor and comedian Garry Shandling died Thursday at the age of 66, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said.
Shandling is best known for working on the cable television comedy show "The Larry Sanders Show,” which aired from 1992-98. He began his entertainment career by writing for sitcoms such as "Welcome Back, Kotter" and "Sanford and Son.”
The circumstances of Handling’s death have not yet been officially confirmed, though TMZ reported that he died from a heart attack. He was taken from his home in Los Angeles to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said LAPD officer Aareon Jefferson, Reuters reported.
