After the terrorist attempted to avoid a checkpoint at the entrance to the holy site, officers stopped him and discovered a knife concealed in his pants.

A similar incident occurred on Sunday when the Israeli Border Police arrested a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist who attempted to enter the Cave of the Patriarchs with a knife hidden in his shirt.

Police said they regularly encounter “determined efforts” to smuggle weapons into the Cave of the Patriarchs.

The Border Police apprehended a knife-wielding Palestinian terrorist at the entrance to the holy site earlier in November.
