Arab woman killed outside Jerusalem after attempted stabbing of Israeli guards

No Israelis were injured in the morning attack; police are investigating.

An Arab woman who attempted to stab a guard at the A’Zaim crossing east of Jerusalem and west of the suburb of Ma’ale Adumim was shot dead on Wednesday.

The crossing was temporarily closed following the attack. No Israelis were injured.

The attack took place just after 10 a.m. in Israel, when an unidentified woman charged guards with a kitchen knife decorated with pictures of apples.

Police are investigating the incident, and Jerusalem police chief Yoram Halevy arrived to personally assess the scene.

Officials announced heightened security measures in the area.
