Israeli police arrested three Palestinians late Monday for hurling stones at a public bus carrying worshippers to the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The suspects fled the scene after causing damage to the bus. No injuries were reported, and law enforcement apprehended the attackers following a search of the area.

“We will not allow anyone to harm citizens and escape from the law,” the police said in a statement.

The suspects will appear in court for a remand hearing. Authorities said that they would prosecute the attackers to the full extent of the law.

Jerusalem’s Old City houses an Arab Quarter, and is adjacent to the Ras al-Amud and Silwan neighborhoods. These areas are also home to Jewish residents, who report periodic attacks, primarily in the form of firebomb- and rock-throwing.
