What was to be a humiliating trip to the United States for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu (long uninvited to the White House) was somehow finessed into a kind of victory tour.

The opening event with Elon Musk was a triumph, and potentially the birth of a new partnership to face the challenges and opportunities of the fast-evolving future of Artificial Intelligence.

The prime minister’s U.N. speech was classic Bibi.

When asked about “normalization” with the Saudis, Netanyahu assured interviewers that it was a sure thing. And he did so with such a twinkle in his eye that I wondered if an agreement between Bibi and MBS had already been reached, in secret.
