Caroline’s guest on “The Caroline Glick Show” this week is Chaim Bernstein, whose son, Lt. Col. Yehonatan Tzor, served as commander of the Nahal Infantry Brigade’s Reconnaissance Unit of the Israel Defense Forces. Tzor was killed in battle with Hamas terrorists as he made his way to his base along the Gaza border on Oct. 7.
Tzor was raised in the community of Yitzhar in Samaria and considered a member of the much-maligned “Hilltop Youth” until he joined the IDF.
Bernstein, the son of new immigrants (olim) from the United States spoke with Israel about the special relationship between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel, and how his son lived this relationship—joining the sacred and the mundane in everything he did in life.
Tzor’s journey represents a chronicle of Jewish endurance. It is a story for Jews in Israel and the Diaspora, and for people worldwide who seek meaning and goodness in the world.
