Inside the army crisis in Israel post-Oct. 7

“The Quad,” Ep. 19

Since the start of the war with Hamas in Gaza after the atrocities perpetrated in Jewish communities in southern Israel on Oct. 7, anger has grown over the lack of haredi participation in the army and other parts of society. The call to enlist the most Orthodox citizens in the country has been met with riots and a threat by the chief Sephardic rabbi that haredim will leave before being forced into the draft.

“The Quad” speaks to two religious women who are calling for change from within the community to discuss what haredi street is saying, and if Oct. 7 is the crisis that will forever change Israeli society and its Orthodox population.
