Two Israeli Border Police officers were lightly wounded by an explosive device during a violent disturbance in Abu Dis overnight Monday. They were evacuated to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center for treatment.

The incident came against the backdrop of the Israel Defense Forces’ ongoing operation in Jenin.

During the night, Border Police forces dealt with disturbances in some 25 locations, that included shootings at the Shuafat and Qalandia crossings on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Officers were also attacked with explosives, firebombs and stones.

Border Police responded by using non-lethal riot dispersal measures, and made multiple arrests.
