An Israeli Border Police officer was wounded during a counterterrorism operation in Judea early Thursday, the IDF said.

The policeman was transported to a hospital after suffering light injuries while conducting an arrest raid in the Dheisheh refugee camp south of Bethlehem. During the raid, terrorists threw stones, explosives and Molotov cocktails at IDF personnel, who responded with riot dispersal measures and live fire.

Eighteen terrorism suspects were arrested during overnight operations in Judea and Samaria, including three in the Dheisheh camp and a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, according to the IDF.

Palestinian media identified the latter as Saeed Nakhleh. He was captured in the Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah. Israeli forces also arrested another suspect and confiscated military equipment and ammunition during the raid.
