Terrorists in the Palestinian village of Ya’bad in northern Samaria shot at an adjacent Israeli military post on Saturday night.
Israel Defense Forces soldiers returned fire, the army said.
No injuries or damage were reported.
Following a search of the area, shell casings were found next to a mosque in the town, which is located near the Israeli community of Mevo Dotan and 12 miles west of Jenin. IDF soldiers were pursuing the suspects.

Police arrested a Palestinian suspected of throwing a Molotov cocktail and setting off fireworks near a police station in southern Jerusalem, the police said on Sunday morning.
The incident took place two weeks ago.
A search of the suspect’s eastern Jerusalem home turned up several flags of the Hamas and Lions’ Den terrorist groups and an M16-type bullet.
The suspect is in his 20s.
