Israeli troops came under attack on Monday night on Highway 60 near Kiryat Arba in Judea. The forces returned fire, and a search was launched for the assailants.

An Israeli military ambulance was damaged, but no injuries were reported, according to the Israeli military.

Two bullets were found inside the vehicle, the front-right window of which was shattered.

A spokesperson for the Kiryat Arba community said in a statement that the village gates were closed due to the incident.

Ronen Hanania, 50, was killed in a Palestinian terror attack at the entrance of Kiryat Arba in October of last year. Three other Israelis and one Palestinian were also wounded in the attack.

The terrorist, a Hamas member, was shot dead by security forces during the attack.
