A prayer event for the success of the U.S. election was held at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron on Monday, with the participation of Republicans Overseas Israel Chairman Marc Zell and local leaders.
“A day before the fateful presidential election in the U.S., I held a prayer this morning in the Cave of the Patriarchs with the participation of lawyer Marc Zell, the chairman of the Republican Party in Israel, Efrat Council head Dovi Shefler and others,” Mount Hebron Council head Eliram Azulay wrote on Facebook, Arutz Sheva reported.
“During these historic days we are experiencing, the American elections hold tremendous weight. We pray that in the end, we will receive good news—for the communities in Judea and Samaria, for Mount Hebron in particular, and for the entire nation of Israel,” he continued.
“That the entire world may recognize God’s blessing to Abraham: ‘And all the nations of the world will be blessed through you,'” Azulay wrote.
Almost three-quarters of Israeli Jews believe that former U.S. President Donald Trump would advance the Israel’s interests better than Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, a survey published on Monday found.
The poll, conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute’s Viterbi Family Center for Public Opinion and Policy Research, shows that 72% of Jewish Israelis believe that a Republican win would help to advance their country’s interests.
Last week, a poll published by Israel’s Channel 12 News found that 66% of Israelis prefer Trump over Harris, with 17% choosing the incumbent vice president. Among voters for the Jewish state’s coalition of right-wing and religious parties, 93% chose Trump and 1% Harris.
