Israeli forces prevented an attempted stabbing of soldiers at a checkpoint in the Jordan Valley on Monday, the IDF said.

A woman arrived at the Tayseer checkpoint and refused to identify herself to IDF soldiers before pulling out a knife and trying to stab them. The soldiers responded by firing at the terrorist, killing her.

There were no injuries reported among the Israeli forces.

Later on Monday, soldiers guarding Shiloh in Samaria’s Binyamin region fired in the air and used stun grenades after a vehicle with Palestinian Authority license plates drove up to the community’s gate.

The driver reportedly refused to identify himself or leave the car. Troops blocked the entry road to Shiloh and police sappers were called to the scene to search the vehicle for explosives.

On Sunday, two Israelis were wounded in a shooting attack in western Samaria.

According to medics, a woman in her 20s was seriously wounded and a man in his 40s was moderately hurt. The female victim, later identified as an Israel Defense Forces soldier, was evacuated to Beilinson Medical Center in Petach Tikvah, and the man was being treated at Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba.

One was wounded by gunfire directed at a bus and the other was hit while driving a car. The attack occurred east of Qalqilya on Route 55, between the Palestinian towns of Azzun and Nabi Ilyas.

IDF troops were dispatched to the scene and police blocked the highway in both directions.

Security forces opened a manhunt for the terrorist after he fled on foot towards Qalqilya.

IDF soldiers found a large explosive device in the suspect’s car, which was located near the scene. They later blew up the vehicle.
