Under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump, America and Israel are fully aligned in their shared missions: defeat Islamic terrorism, prevent a nuclear Iran and ensure Israel’s complete victory over Hamas. With his visit to Israel earlier in February and a subsequent meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent a clear message to the world: The U.S.-Israel alliance has never been stronger.
“President Trump and I are fully coordinated with a shared strategy,” Netanyahu said, adding that he is unable to reveal details, including “when the gates of hell will open.”
Trump and Rubio understand the stakes, unlike the disastrous Biden administration, which over the years coddled Iran and pressured Israel while funding its Islamic fundamentalist enemies.
Rubio was blunt about the reality on the ground in Israel, stating that Hamas needs to be eliminated or “peace becomes impossible.” In other words, there is no “two-state solution” when one of those states is run by genocidal jihadists. Netanyahu added that the Trump administration must not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. Indeed, Trump and Rubio have made it clear that the Islamic regime will never be allowed to threaten the world with nuclear weapons.
The difference between Trump’s unwavering support and Biden’s betrayal could not be clearer. Unlike the Obama-Biden foreign-policy disasters that empowered Iran, pressured Israel and emboldened Hamas, the Trump administration recognizes that a strong, unbreakable U.S.-Israel alliance makes the free world safer.
“You can always count on us as long as I’m in the State Department and Trump is in the White House,” Rubio said. His words of support were what Israel needed to hear, straightforward and clear, without mixed messages. Without backstabbing. Simply a rock-solid commitment to defeating jihad, ensuring Israel’s security and preventing another Oct. 7.
In praising the resilience of the Jewish people, Rubio said that Israel serves as an example to the whole world, and, if the Middle East had more countries like Israel, “there would be more peace and quiet.”
Make no mistake. This alliance is backed by unprecedented military support from the Trump administration. Israel’s Defense Ministry recently announced that a shipment of heavy aerial bombs released by the Trump administration had arrived in Israel. The munitions have already been transferred to Israel Defense Forces’ military bases. To date, Israel has received over 76,000 tons of military equipment via 678 airlifts and 129 sea shipments, a supply chain that represents the largest air and sea supply operation in Israel’s history.
This alone highlights the essential difference between Trump’s pro-Israel administration and Biden’s anti-Israel administration, which paid lip service to American Jews while withholding arms and funding the very terrorists who massacred Jews on Oct. 7. Biden and his team sent hundreds of millions of dollars to Hamas-controlled Gaza and the Palestinian Authority—the same P.A. that pays terrorists to murder Jews.
Trump and Rubio arm Israel to destroy those terrorists.
Rubio’s visit, his words and the American-Israeli alliance reflect the work I am privileged to do at the Yes! Israel Project, along with my colleagues Ruth Jaffe Lieberman and Sarah Paley.
A result of our work came in the form of a letter from Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.), who expressed his support of the Knesset decision regarding the danger of establishing a Palestinian state in the heart of Israel. A Palestinian state would pose an existential threat to the State of Israel and its citizens, perpetuate the Israeli-Arab conflict and destabilize the region. Harris stated his commitment as a member of the Congress to stand firmly with Israel, affirming the historical and national rights of the people of Israel. He opposes the introduction of any terrorist entity that could threaten Israel.
The congressman’s letter amplifies Netanyahu’s and Rubio’s messaging: With the support of a strong Israel, Hamas will be destroyed, and Iran will never have nuclear weapons. Israel and the United States are fully aligned in this fight. As Rubio stated, “Trump is Israel’s greatest ally,” and “Hamas cannot continue as the body that controls the Gaza Strip … it must be destroyed and annihilated.”
This is what it sounds like when there is no daylight between America and Israel. It is how real relationships are made and how Israel’s future is secured while also protecting America.
