BDS advocates dealt setback in Cambridge, Mass., after mayor nixes council consideration
The proposed resolution was put forward by MA Against HP—a coalition of pro-BDS groups that includes Jewish Voice for Peace, which called on the city not to renew its participation in a program to receive Hewlett-Packard products at a discount and to terminate their relationship with HP.
Why did anti-BDS bill fail in Massachusetts when it succeeded in other states?
The executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, which helped draft and promote the measure, conceded that “there were just too many obstacles to overcome.”
