The Toronto Police Service has put out a call for public assistance in identifying an individual suspected in vandalizing signs outside a city synagogue.

On Monday, the Canadian law enforcement agency released three blurry images of a middle-aged man and one of his “newer dark grey Ford pickup truck.” He is believed to have engaged in “hate-motivated mischief” on Dec. 2 and Dec. 20.

Police describe him as “a middle age man, with a medium build and a moustache. He was wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and a Yukon style hat.” During the Dec. 20 incident he reportedly wore a black jacket and a baseball hat.

Those who recognize the suspect may contact police at 416-808-3500, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com.

The vandalism came alongside other recent antisemitic hate crimes in Toronto, including three shootings at the Bais Chaya Mushka Elementary, a Chabad girls’ school.
