National Security Council: ‘We consult with Israel very, very closely’

At the June 12 White House press briefing, a reporter asked about a potential rift between Israel and the United States on deterring Iran’s nuclear program.

“We consult with Israel very, very closely,” responded John Kirby, National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications.

“We have a shared idea of the continuing destabilizing behavior and threats coming from Iran in the region,” he added. “I’m not going to confirm press reports about deals or no deals. We are laser-focused on the destabilizing activity.”
