Peter Kandalaft, who lives in Surrey, England, and identifies as Palestinian, pleaded guilty on Monday to posting 21 antisemitic messages on social media, including calling for a “Jew-free world” and saying to “let them Jews die and pile them high,” the Daily Mail reported.
The 57-year-old posted the comments between Nov. 19 and Dec. 19.
Police arrested him on Jan. 11, and confiscated his phone and tablet. “During the police interview, he said he was Palestinian, his account had been hacked and that he had ‘no particular views on Hamas or Jewish people,’” the prosecutor said, per the newspaper.
The judge told Kandalaft’s attorney, “You say your client regrets saying what was said on Twitter, but people say things online because they think they can get away with it, but that didn’t happen.” The same court will hear another case against Kandalaft for possessing a weapon.
