Can Israel attain victory in Gaza?

"Israel Insider with Ashley Perry" and guest Yossi Kuperwasser

Can Israel improve on its reactive “mowing the lawn” policy of repeated wars with Hamas and attain victory in Gaza?

In this special “Israel Insider,” Ashley Perry interviews Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Kuperwasser about his recently published and much-noted Middle East Forum-sponsored analysis that shows how to end this unacceptable off-and-on conflict.

Yossi Kuperwasser is a leading Israeli intelligence and security expert. He formerly served as the head of the research division in the Israel Defense Forces Military Intelligence Directorate and as director general of the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs. He holds a B.A. in Arabic language and literature from the University of Haifa and an M.A. in economics from Tel Aviv University.

“Israel Insider with Ashley Perry” is produced and hosted by the Middle East Forum (MEF). Each week, Perry, a former senior Israeli government adviser, provides insight into what’s behind the headlines in Israel. You can join live every Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. U.K. time and 10 p.m. Israel time here, or catch it on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Sound Cloud the following day.

Perry served as an adviser to Israel’s minister of foreign affairs and deputy prime minister from 2009 to 2015. He has also worked in the Prime Minister’s Office and with Israel’s ministers of intelligence, defense, tourism, energy, national infrastructure and water, agriculture, internal security and immigrant absorption, as well as with the chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. He has served as director of communications for presidents, prime ministers and political parties outside Israel and as an adviser and consultant to many governments, public figures and organizations.
