ChaiFlicks will premiere the Oct. 7 documentary “Saving Dror” from United Kingdom filmmaker Jill Samuels and donate all streaming proceeds to charity assisting Kibbutz Be’eri survivors.

Saving Dror” is centered around a first-person testimony from Kibbutz Be’eri member Sagi Shifroni who endured the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel’s southern border.

Kibbutz Be’eri was at the epicenter of the Oct. 7 attack, with more than 100 of its members killed and 30 kidnapped by Hamas on that day. Shifroni, whose house was directly targeted by terrorists, managed to escape together with his young daughter to another family member’s house, which was also targeted later on that day.

“We are truly humbled to be able to share Sagi’s emotionally gripping story with the world,” said ChaiFlicks co-founder Neil Friedman. “Raising awareness of these events and the ongoing crisis Be’eri and other communities are facing is integral to our work and our identity as a platform and as a people.”

“I hope this film will reach audiences around the world,” said Shafrani. “Hopefully, it will, in some way, help free my friends who are still in captivity and bring them home.”

All revenues generated from the film will be donated to the Yad B’Yad Be’eri Families program, which is working to secure permanent housing for those displaced from the kibbutz as a result of the Oct. 7 attacks.

“Sagi’s authenticity in his recall of the events of Oct. 7 moved me in such a profound way,” said Samuels. “I was determined to share it with the world.”
