(March 11, 2021, Jerusalem, JNS Wire) Masa Israel Journey, founded by the government of Israel and The Jewish Agency, hosted its Craft Your Career event, the largest virtual career event of the year on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. There was a 50% increase in event participation compared to last year, demonstrating that career opportunities in Israel are in high demand.
Almost a year since the pandemic began, there is heightened optimism surrounding post-pandemic career opportunities, with young adults excited to take their next step. The event featured over 40 speakers on crafting a successful career in today’s challenging yet uniquely exciting landscape, including Masa’s acting CEO Ofer Gutman, and media and business leaders such as Fiverr’s Eli Bogdan, Brianna Fowler of Save a Child’s Heart, Jon Medved, founder and CEO of OurCrowd, and many more industry leaders. Attendees included young adults and parents from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, South Africa, Greece, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Ukraine, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Germany, Panama, Mexico, Chile, Turkey, Colombia, Russia, Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil.
Participants explored Masa programs and participated in interactive breakout sessions, which included resume writing workshops, industry networking opportunities, and Israeli workplace information led by top career coaches. The event provided resources for families to learn about the range of opportunities available through Masa for taking one’s next career steps in Israel.
“Masa Career programs are an increasingly viable option for young adults looking to elevate their opportunities for professional growth. We’ve seen a 33% increase in participants year over year, with an 85% surge in participants from North America alone. Masa is proud to partner with industry leaders to provide such a valuable learning experience for young professionals at this critical time,” said Masa Acting CEO Ofer Gutman.
Sade Storthz, 22, from Arkansas, shared: “The Masa Career event was really informative. Having the opportunity to ask industry leaders questions and meet so many different people in the workshops really opened my eyes to all Israel has to offer. COVID-19 has made me really eager to travel again and I‘m excited to think about my future in Israel!”
Currently, there are more than 8,000 Masa Fellows in Israel participating in long-term educational experiences, and thousands more are expected to arrive later this programming year. All programs are operating with respect to Israel’s Ministry of Health safety and health guidelines.
