Wheels of Love: USA-Princeton announces cycling fundraiser for ALYN Hospital in Israel

Goal of June 23 event to raise $100,000 for pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation center with bike routes aimed at all ages.

Join the fourth annual Wheels of Love: USA charitable cycling event on Sunday, June 23, at Skillman Park, near Princeton, N.J., in support of ALYN Hospital. The goal of the event from the American Friends of ALYN Hospital (AFAH) is to raise $100,000, and funds will go directly to benefit ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem. ALYN is a world-renowned, nonprofit pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation center dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with physical disabilities.

Wheels of Love: USA – Princeton will bring together avid and casual cyclists alike, offering individuals and groups the opportunity to be sponsored for a 62- or 38-mile ride and a family-friendly 2.25-mile route where participants can choose to walk or ride. 

Whichever route you choose, the ride is fully paved and will be well-equipped with cycle and medical support, snacks and drinks, and restroom facilities at designated stops for all to enjoy.

Wheels of Love: USA reflects AFAH’s perpetual mission to increase awareness and to drive support for the innovative and life-changing work that ALYN Hospital has pursued for the last 90 years. 

All of the donations raised by riders and the wider community will directly support ALYN Hospital’s ability to advance its ground-breaking research, develop customized assisted technologies, and enhance and improve therapeutic programs and treatment services for patients and their families. 

ALYN Hospital does not receive government funding and depends on donations to help cover the financial gap between what it receives from referring agencies and the actual costs of delivering best-in-class and innovative interdisciplinary care. From diagnosis to intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment to ongoing support, ALYN Hospital’s ultimate goal is to provide children with disabilities the care and tools they need to live with the greatest amount of mobility and independence. 

ALYN Hospital’s impact in just 2023 tells a compelling story:

  • 112,286 treatments provided across a spectrum of physical disabilities
  • 73,575 therapeutic sessions for general development and rehabilitation services
  • 3,117 children treated in outpatient services
  • 143 PELE innovations personalized equipment leading to empowerment state-of-the-art adaptive solutions in development
  • 41 PARC research studies pediatric and adolescent research center studies for novel treatment efficacy and reliability 
  • 16 ALYNnovation start-up partnerships
