The Jewish Federation of Orange County hosted its 2025 Women’s VOICES event on March 6 in Irvine, Calif., to celebrate the impact of women’s philanthropy in county. The annual gathering drew 300 women philanthropists who came to hear from bestselling author and advocate Jennifer Weiner and honor Jane Brenner, a longtime community leader, as the 2025 “Woman of the Year.”
“Our stories have the power to bring us together and inspire change,” said Weiner. “When women share their experiences and raise their voices, we create a ripple effect that strengthens our entire community.”
Women’s VOICES was created by Jewish Federation of Orange County Women’s Philanthropy in alignment with its mission to inspire purposeful and passionate giving. The event highlights the unique Jewish journeys of women working together to amplify Jewish life in Orange County, Israel and around the world, while raising critical funds for Federation’s Annual Campaign. This year’s program was centered on the theme “Telling Our Stories,” emphasizing the collective power of women to uplift and empower the community.
“Telling our stories isn’t just a theme—it’s a call to action. When women share their journeys, it sparks engagement and generosity. Thanks to this collective energy, women’s philanthropy has raised over $1 million so far for Jewish Federation’s 2025 Annual Campaign, strengthening Jewish life here in Orange County, in Israel and across the globe,” said Paula Greenberger, women’s philanthropy council president.
In accepting the Woman of the Year award, Brenner said, “I am deeply humbled and inspired by this honor. Throughout my years with women’s philanthropy, I’ve seen that every act of giving—whether of time, resources or voice—helps ensure our values and traditions thrive. It is through these collective efforts that we build a stronger, more connected community.”
“Women’s VOICES embodies the heart of our mission at Jewish Federation of Orange County,” said Erik Ludwig, president and CEO of Jewish Federation of Orange County. “Jane Brenner’s dedication, alongside Jennifer Weiner’s powerful message, propel our community forward. As we celebrate, we also renew our commitment to ensure a future where every Jewish voice is heard and valued.”
