World Jewish Congress president Ronald S. Lauder once asked the longtime U.S. statesman, who passed away at the age of 100 on Feb. 6, why he stood up for American and Israeli Jews when he was often pressured not to. He responded: “Because I thought you were right.”
It will first be available in English-speaking countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States.
The Lauder Employment Center has set a goal of bringing 500,000 people to the desert.
World Jewish Congress president meets with Abbas
Ronald S. Lauder spoke with the Palestinian Authority leader for what was “a private visit at [Mahmoud] Abbas’s invitation to discuss a range of issues regarding Palestine and the Middle East.”
“Seventy-five years ago today, when Soviet troops entered these gates, they had no idea what lay behind them. And since that day, the entire world has struggled with what they found inside,” said World Jewish Congress president Ronald S. Lauder.
The group will focus on candidates from both major parties who are on the ballot before or on Election Day in November 2020.
“We want the children to be proud of being Jewish. In order to be proud, they have to know what they’re proud of, and why,” said philanthropist Ronald S. Lauder.
“We bow our heads to their heroism, their bravery, their determination and courage,” Polish President Andrzej Duda said at the ceremony at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Warsaw.
