Anti-Israel Bias

A pro-BDS bill by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was widely seen as a move to push back against U.S. laws banning the boycott of Israel. Co-sponsorship by U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) adds credibility to the resolution, which will likely face stiff opposition in the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives.
“The stakes for what we do now as a nation are enormous,” said American Jewish Committee chief policy officer Jason Isaacson.
Since entering Congress in January, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has made multiple anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks.
“There is continued dehumanization and racist policies by the State of Israel that violate international human rights, but also violate my core values of who I am as an American,” said the Michigan congresswoman.
San Francisco State professor Rabab Abdulhadi has an anti-Israel history that includes calling the presence of pro-Israel students on campus a “declaration of war” against Arabs and Muslims.
David Triesman, who also resigned as the whip in the House of Lords, remarked, “It [is] time to recognize the reality. I always said it was worth hanging on to fight so long as there was a prospect of winning. I now don’t believe with this leadership there is.”
Berger’s anti-Israel history includes supporting violent demonstrations, as demonstrated by now-deleted Twitter posts.
A conference on anti-Semitism in Berlin revealed varying ideological roots of contemporary anti-Semitism according to different parts of the world.
The Canadian elections are scheduled for Oct. 21.
