Former New York state representative Dov Hikind was arrested during a protest at the Manhattan offices of Amnesty International on Thursday.

The former Democratic New York State Assemblyman from Borough Park said that he was there to present an award for “moral hypocrisy” on March 8, International Women’s Day. The organization he founded, Americans Against Antisemitism, issued a statement announcing the award ceremony.

Hikind said that the human-rights group “has truly earned the shameful distinction of moral hypocrites by their deafening silence on the sadistic sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas on Jewish women and girls on October 7.”

He explained on X that instead of accepting the distinction, they called the police to arrest him after he refused to vacate their offices, located on West 43rd St.

“Many have been asking what happened this afternoon when Karen Lichtbraun and I got arrested at the offices of Amnesty USA while raising awareness of Hamas sexual violence against Jewish women on October 7 in commemoration of International Women’s Day—we cannot be silent about these atrocities! Speak up! Even if they arrest you!” Hikind tweeted.

“The munitions expenditure in ‘Operation Epic Fury’ has resulted in strategic inventory shortfalls and revealed industrial base bottlenecks for munitions resupply,” the report states.
“Whether it’s hosting Miss Israel or meeting with elected officials from Israel, I’m always looking to strengthen” the “deep bond between New York City and Israel,” Eric Dinowitz, a member of the City Council told JNS.
Charlotte Knobloch, who leads the city’s Jewish community, canceled her attendance at a book launch following the incident.
Abd al-Rahman intended to carry out the attack “in the immediate time frame.”
