Israel cuts off ceasefire talks with UN, Egypt

Early Tuesday morning, Israeli officials permitted the opening of children’s preschools and kindergartens outfitted with bomb shelters, as well as non-essential workplaces in close proximity to bomb shelters. Shortly afterwards, rocket sirens blared in areas near the Gaza border.

Israel has cut off talks with Egypt and the United Nations Special Envoy to Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov regarding a ceasefire with Hamas after some 400 rockets were fired at Israeli civilian centers in less than 24 hours.

Israel’s security cabinet advanced its pre-scheduled afternoon meeting to the morning in order to discuss next steps.

The Israel Defense Forces has announced the limited call-up of “vital” reserve soldiers. Reports also indicated a movement of Israeli tanks towards the Gaza border.

Shortly afterwards, rocket sirens blared in the Or Haner and Erez communities near the Gaza border. No additional injuries or damage were reported in those communities.

The embassy “continues to stand proudly as a reminder of America’s recognition” of Israel’s eternal capital, David Friedman said.

The U.K.'s Maritime Trade Operations said armed men boarded a commercial ship near the UAE port of Fujairah and began sailing it toward the Islamic Republic.
“It is under Israel’s sovereignty that people of all faiths have access to their holy sites,” the American diplomat stated.
