Israel cuts off ceasefire talks with UN, Egypt

Early Tuesday morning, Israeli officials permitted the opening of children’s preschools and kindergartens outfitted with bomb shelters, as well as non-essential workplaces in close proximity to bomb shelters. Shortly afterwards, rocket sirens blared in areas near the Gaza border.

Israel has cut off talks with Egypt and the United Nations Special Envoy to Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov regarding a ceasefire with Hamas after some 400 rockets were fired at Israeli civilian centers in less than 24 hours.

Israel’s security cabinet advanced its pre-scheduled afternoon meeting to the morning in order to discuss next steps.

The Israel Defense Forces has announced the limited call-up of “vital” reserve soldiers. Reports also indicated a movement of Israeli tanks towards the Gaza border.

Shortly afterwards, rocket sirens blared in the Or Haner and Erez communities near the Gaza border. No additional injuries or damage were reported in those communities.

“Iran’s demonstrated aggression was unwarranted, dangerous and a clear violation of the ceasefire,” CENTCOM said.
The organization asked the court to reconsider, arguing that it could be forced to suspend operations in the state and nationwide if the designation takes effect.
The 19-year-old waived trial after prosecutors said that he conspired to join ISIS and communicated about “violence against Jewish people,” per a federal filing.
Rabbi Aaron Starr, rabbi of Shaarey Zedek and president of the Michigan Board of Rabbis, declined to comment directly on Dr. Abdul El-Sayed but told JNS, “look at what he says about ‘genocide’ and who his funders are.”
