Israel Prison Service offers skirt for religious guards

The Israel Prison Service has unveiled a skirt designed for religiously observant women serving as guards or prison staffers.

The move is an attempt to offer a practical solution to women who wish to serve in field positions without compromising their religious beliefs or lifestyle.

The new attire comes at a time when an increasing number of religious women are serving in the IPS.

Earlier this month, uniform tzitzit, or knotted ritual fringes worn as an undergarment, were offered to male staffers at Israeli prisons.
