“We’re creating opportunities for New Yorkers to enjoy the outdoors, stay active and come together,” stated New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.
“I want every child in the non-religious schools to understand that Judaism belongs to them just as much as it does to children in religious schools,” a senior Israeli education official told JNS. “I want them to know that this is their birthright.”
Alex Edelman, a Tony- and Emmy-Award winner, also lit a menorah on stage as the audience seemed to sing the blessings along with him.
“The Talmud teaches clearly to listen to each other with respect,” Phil Weiser told JNS over iced tea at a Manhattan wine bar, before he held a fundraiser.
“We’re not going anywhere so fast. We can’t be erased,” one attendee told JNS. “People aren’t surrendering.”
