Emir of Qatar gives Turkish president $400 million luxury jet

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani gave Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan a Boeing 747 worth some $400 million, Turkey’s Show TV reported last month.

According to the Sept. 14 report, the luxury plane has two private sitting rooms, seven bedrooms and medical facilities.

The gift was preceded by a $15 billion investment by the emir in the Turkish economy, according to the report.
