The Israeli defense establishment has decided to place civilian sanctions on the relatives of Palestinian terrorists in the wake of the ongoing wave of terrorism, Kan News reported on Tuesday.

The sanctions will include a ban on working in Israel, receiving Israeli medical treatment, family visits to Israel and entry to the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

“The environment of a terrorist should not receive a salary from Israelis and certainly should not be working in Israel,” a senior defense source was quoted as saying. “Relatives of a terrorist also have responsibility for what happens around them. We expect relatives of a terrorist to create pressure and to express concern that acts of terror can harm them.”

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett visited the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv to hear updates on the Israel Defense Force’s ongoing war drill, “Chariots of Fire,” the largest military war drill to be held in decades.

“It simulates a simultaneous conflict on multiple fronts with all that entails,” said Bennett.

“We neither seek out nor want conflict, but we are prepared for any scenario that comes,” he stated. “The enemy knows that if he drags us into a conflict, he will pay an unbearably heavy price. The Israeli public needs to know that the State of Israel is stronger than all of our enemies combined, and we will always be ready for this on every point.”
