Iran fired several missiles at Israeli civilian population centers on Monday night, triggering air-raid sirens in Haifa, the Israel Defense Forces said.

No injuries or damages were reported in the missile assault, which was repelled by air defenses, reports said. The aerial attack reportedly included four ballistic missiles and sparked a fire in an open area.

“A short time ago, alerts were activated in several areas in northern Israel following the detection of missiles launched from Iran toward Israeli territory,” the IDF stated, urging civilians to remain in shelters until an all-clear was announced.

The Magen David Adom medical response group confirmed it had not received any “reports of missile impacts or casualties, except for a few lightly injured individuals who were hurt while making their way to a shelter.”

Eight people were killed and nearly 300 wounded in the early hours of Monday by Iranian ballistic missiles targeting densely populated Israeli population centers in the central and northern parts of the country.

Four of the deaths took place in the greater Tel Aviv area—four in Petach Tikvah and one in Bnei Brak. Three people who were initially reported as being trapped in Haifa were declared dead, while a 30-year-old woman was rescued and hospitalized in serious condition.
