The Jewish Agency for Israel

The Jewish Agency for Israel has been working since 1929 to secure a vibrant Jewish future. It was instrumental in founding and building the State of Israel and continues to serve as the main link between the Jewish state and Jewish communities everywhere. This global partnership has enabled it to address the Jewish people’s greatest challenges in every generation. Today, the Jewish Agency connects the global Jewish family—bringing Jews to Israel and Israel to Jews—by providing meaningful Israel engagement and facilitating aliyah. It also strives to build a better society in Israel and beyond by energizing young Israelis and their worldwide peers to rediscover a collective sense of Jewish purpose. The Jewish Agency continues to be the Jewish world’s first responder, prepared to address emergencies in Israel and to rescue Jews from countries where they are at risk.
The organization also took part in a rally in Budapest, where hundreds of community members gathered to show their support for Israel.
Some 90 Israeli soldiers joined the “Shlichim in Uniform” initiative for the country’s 76th anniversary, advancing the Jewish Agency’s mission to deepen ties to world Jewry.
The ceremony featured stories of soldiers who immigrated to Israel and voluntarily enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces.
“For a few hours, it felt like life was normal, and we celebrated Passover as we usually do,” said Boris and Yeugenia Fogel, an elderly couple who fled Ukraine shortly after the war began.
The cross-continental operation provided an emotional boost for olim from the United States, Brazil, France, Ukraine and Belgium.
The “Campers2Gether” initiative responds to stark realities for Jewish youth worldwide, including displacement and loss for Israelis.
Some 200 participants at the Jewish Agency for Israel’s board of governors meeting will discuss plans for the rehabilitation of Gaza border communities.
The partnership comes as anti-Jewish incidents in America are skyrocketing.
