A bipartisan resolution was introduced in the House of Representatives on Tuesday to condemn the deadliest attack in American Jewish history: the Oct. 27 shooting at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life*Or L’Simcha Synagogue that killed 11 Jews while they prayed during Shabbat-morning services.

Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) was joined by fellow Reps. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.), Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), Ted Deutch (D-Fla.), Kay Granger (R-Texas), Marc Veasey (D-Texas) and Peter Roskam (R-Ill.), the co-chairs of the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism.

“The Pittsburgh Jewish community and the city at large have all shown what it means to come together after a tragedy,” said Congressman Doyle. “I hope that this resolution will continue the healing process, bring honor to the victims and offer some comfort to their families, friends, loved ones and community.”

He added: “I appreciate the support of the Bipartisan Taskforce to Combat Anti-Semitism and look forward to this resolution’s quick passage.”
