A new advisory group will “assist the chancellor and university leadership to identify opportunities to enhance the campus environment for students, faculty and staff, and to advance its commitment to an inclusive community where all feel welcome,” according to a statement.
Whoever is nominated would likely signal the direction that the next White House would take on issues relevant to the relationship between America and Israel, including combating anti-Semitism, Diaspora Jewry, Mideast relations, the Iranian threat and more.
As the fate of the U.S. Senate rests on two run-off elections in Georgia, GOP control of the Senate could block nominees to the executive branch, including Cabinet members in a Biden administration, who may be hostile towards Israel.
