Israel announced on Wednesday the imminent opening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt to allow the exit of Gaza residents.
“In accordance with the ceasefire agreement and a directive of the political echelon, the Rafah Crossing will open in the coming days exclusively for the exit of residents from the Gaza Strip to Egypt,” Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) posted to X.
“The residents’ exit through the Rafah Crossing will be facilitated through coordination with Egypt, following security approval by Israel and under the supervision of the European Union mission, similar to the mechanism that operated in January 2025,” the statement continued.

Israeli forces killed three terrorists on Tuesday after they crossed a designated buffer zone and approached Israeli troops in separate incidents in northern and southern Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said.
The Israeli Air Force carried out the strikes in both cases.
IDF troops remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to respond to immediate threats, the military said.
