The Israel Defense Forces downed two terror rockets heading for Israeli territory from the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday night, it said.

Following alerts that were activated at 9:17 p.m. in the Gaza Envelope [border] area, the Air Force intercepted two launches that crossed into Israeli territory from the northern Gaza Strip,” the military announced.

No injuries or damages were reported in the rocket assault on Israel.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israelis in Kibbutz Kissufim near Gaza were briefly sent into bomb shelters after the IDF detected a “suspicious aerial target” crossing from the Strip.

“Alerts were activated in the Kissufim area due to suspicion of a suspicious aerial target,” the IDF said in a first announcement.

The military, which urged Israelis to follow the updated IDF Home Front Command civil defense guidelines, subsequently announced that the incident near the southern border “had ended” without injuries.

The statement did not say if the suspected aerial target was shot down by air defenses or hit inside Israeli territory without causing casualties.

“This week, Jews across the world are reading the opening portion of the book of Numbers, which describes the organization of the tribes of Israel in the desert before the nation moves forward to the land of Israel,” Arielle Roth said.
