In a sudden and apparent about-face, Ye—née Kanye West—claims to have rescinded his vitriolic antisemitic views after watching Jewish actor Jonah Hill in the 2012 action comedy “21 Jump Street.”
“Watching Jonah Hill in ‘21 Jump Street’ made me like Jewish people again,” the rapper posted on Instagram, where he has more than 18 million followers, on March 25. “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people.”
Ye did not apologize for his prior antisemitic statements and asserted, in the Instagram post, that a Christian, “knowing Jesus is (a) Jew,” cannot be labeled antisemitic.
“Thank you Jonah Hill. I love you,” he added.
