At least one person was wounded when Iran launched two ballistic missiles at Israel on Wednesday night, according to initial reports.
The Magen David Adom medical emergency response group reported that it treated one person who was injured when his vehicle was hit by shrapnel. The wounded driver was “fully conscious,” MDA said.
Air-raid sirens sounded in the greater Tel Aviv area and on the country’s coastal plain, as well as in Samaria, the Israel Defense Forces’ Home Front Command announced.
Israel’s Channel 12 News reported that between five and seven missiles were fired in Iran’s latest barrage aimed at civilian population centers.
The Home Front Command issued the all-clear, meaning that Israelis were able to leave bomb shelters, within 30 minutes after the military had detected missile launches from the Islamic Republic’s territory.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Home Front Command announced a partial easing of movement restrictions for civilians. Tehran’s recent ballistic-missile barrages have featured a reduced number of projectiles, reportedly the result of ongoing Israeli Air Force strikes on launch sites across Iran.
Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, head of the command, commended the public for their responsible behavior in the face of Iranian attacks but cautioned that the fight against the Islamic regime was not over.
“We saw truly noteworthy behavior of the citizens. We recommended, and the minister approved, to introduce certain relaxations. This shows resilience and the ability to return to activity,” Milo said in a statement.
“This does not mean the war is over. Citizens must continue to adhere to the Home Front Command’s instructions. Every time an alert sounds, people must act—it saves lives,” he added.
Since Jerusalem launched its opening strike on the Islamic Republic on Friday, Iranian attacks on civilians in Israel have resulted in 24 fatalities.
