NCSY

NCSY connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY inspires Jewish teens and their connection to Israel through informal Jewish education, retreats and summer programs. NCSY empowers teens through leadership development and guidance to become passionately committed leaders of the Jewish community and instruments for positive change and renewal.
Teens will bring teddy bears, candy, games and other supplies to hundreds of children.
Fundraising by Mike Leven, other donors will enable 44 public school teens to experience life-changing trip to Israel this summer.
Nissim inspired the 50 teens in attendance with the incredible story of his upbringing and journey to finding God and Judaism.
“When New Yorkers experience tragedy, our first instinct must be to stand with them and support in whatever way will be helpful to those suffering,” said Rabbi Gideon Black, CEO of New York NCSY.
Immersive journey in cattle car replica highlights the tragic consequences of hate and antisemitism.
“This is a time for leaders across all segments of our society — government, business, entertainment, faith, and more — to demonstrate that they stand with America’s Jews and against antisemitism,” said Mimi Jankovits, National Grassroots Director for Teach Coalition, a project of the Orthodox Union.
Annual program, made possible by $3 million Katz family gift, provides important boost to Jewish youth.
Rabbi Kaplan, one of the central figures in the American Jewish spiritual awakening “teshuva movement” of the 1960s, was one of NCSY’s foremost thinkers who influenced thousands of unaffiliated Jewish teens over the course of several decades.
