“My writing gives me great satisfaction,” said the author, who passed away on June 14. “I have a push to tell the story. Life continues to give me ideas, and in this land, there is no shortage of subjects [to write about].”
“Occasionally, I’ll meet editors there or famous illustrators, in which I case I get their autographs. It’s a big, exciting event,” says Shirley Waisman, a book illustrator and a coordinator of the Israel chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
