Ben Ferencz

“By naming this post office in his honor, we not only remember the man—we reaffirm the values he stood for,” stated Rep. Lois Frankel.
A Harvard-educated New York lawyer, Benjamin (“Ben”) Ferencz was only 27 when he secured the convictions of 22 Nazi officers.
U.S. Rep Lois Frankel tells JNS that “The message that antisemitism and hatred is wrong, and that the Holocaust was real, is an important message.”
The spending package for the fiscal year 2023 includes the highest congressional honor bestowed to Ben Ferencz for his advocacy of human rights and justice.
Ben Ferencz, honored earlier this year by the State of Florida, was 27 when served as a Nazi prosecutor after the end of World War II.
Ben Ferencz, 103, said he has worked his whole life for “a more humane and peaceful world, where no one would be killed or persecuted because of his race or religion or his political beliefs.”
“As the last living Nuremberg prosecutor and a man who spent more than 50 years prosecuting the most horrific war crimes, [Ben] Ferencz embodies the idea that while the work is not ours to finish, neither is it ours to neglect,” said Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.).
