Israeli, US forces complete joint cyber-training exercise

CyberDome addressed challenges that have emerged in the cyber domain over the past two years, according to the IDF.

The Israel Defense Forces and U.S. Central Command concluded their 10th annual CyberDome exercise last week, with more than 120 cyber specialists training together at a secure U.S. military facility, the IDF said on Tuesday.

The exercise, which was initially launched in 2015, focused on coordinating responses to cyber threats and maintaining regional stability. Israeli military officials said it addressed challenges that have emerged in the cyber domain over the past two years.

Maj. Gen. Aviad Dagan, head of the IDF’s J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate, said dozens of attempted attacks on Israeli national systems have been thwarted over the past two years. He warned such attempts are expected to increase.

“Behind every overt campaign, there is also a covert one,” Dagan said, adding that the cyber threat represents a core national security issue for Israel.
