Rep. Tenney to introduce bill to increase Israeli Iron Dome funding

“Fifty years ago, the U.S. was reluctant to support Israel during the Yom Kippur War. We cannot make the same mistake today,” wrote Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), who announced her intention to seek more Iron Dome aid for Israel.

As reported by the Associated Press, the Iron Dome air-defense system intercepted nearly 90% of the rockets fired in the attack by Hamas from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, even though the terror group attempted to bombard the system with thousands of missiles.

Her legislation is called the “Operation Swords of Iron” Iron Dome Supplemental Appropriations Act.

“I call on my colleagues on both sides to join me and quickly bring this bill to the floor,” she stated. “I also call on [U.S.] President [Joe] Biden to use the powers granted to him by Congress to provide Israel the resources she needs for ‘Operation Swords of Iron.’”

“A blatant war crime. Pure terrorism,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
The New York City mayor told “PBS” that he has met with Orthodox Jewish leaders about antisemitism, “childcare and housing and quality-of-life issues.”
The slain man’s brother was admitted to the hospital in moderate condition.
