Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Sunday visited the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv, one of the hospitals that will receive the hostages in Gaza, who are to be released by Hamas on Monday.

“I saw up close how the amazing team here at Ichilov Medical Center is preparing to receive our hostages with open and professional hands, as well as in all the hospitals to which our sons and daughters who return from the inferno will arrive,” Herzog wrote on X.

The president also visited Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square in a solidarity visit to the families of the soon-to-be-released captives. “We are very excited and eagerly await the return of all—the living for rehabilitation and the fallen for a proper burial. Until the last one,” Herzog posted on X.

Twenty hostages are thought to be alive and will be returned to Israel on Monday. For most of them, real signs of life have been received—videos from Hamas or messages from captivity survivors who were released in the last deal in January-February 2025.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday spoke with Brig. Gen. (res.) Gal Hirsch, his point man for the captives and missing, and told him that Jerusalem was “prepared and ready to immediately receive all of our hostages,” according to a readout from the Prime Minister’s Office.
