Qatar’s envoy to the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that his country intends to cut its funding for Gaza’s fuel supply by half, Israel’s Army Radio reported on Sunday.
No reason was given for the surprise move, which came just as Israel resumed full fuel shipments to the Gaza Strip after reducing them last week due to rockets and violence emerging from the coastal territory.
The decision could potentially reduce Gaza’s electricity supply to just six hours a day, according to Army Radio.
Israel resumed the regular supply of fuel to Gaza on Sunday.
